2019 Michael David Carmenere

Sustainably produced from our estate vineyard, this is the first vintage of the varietal for Michael David Winery. As one of the six original red wine grapes cultivated in Bordeaux, France, Carmenere was once a blending wine in the Medoc region as it produced a deep red color on wines. However on its own and grown in the Lodi Appellation, this wine shows great depth with strong peppery notes, round Merlot-like fruit quality and a balanced, overall structure.

Tasting Notes
Ruby red in hue, this 2019 Michael David Carmenere is filled with aromas of Bing cherry, chocolate covered cranberry and peppery spice on the nose. Medium in body, the palate offers flavors of strawberry, raspberry and black plum carried through by a guided finish with polished tannins.
